Assisting Birmingham UK Young People to gain their Awards
ACHIEVING GROWTH
Grants
The Birmingham Award Association Charity is able to make small Grants to individuals involved in any section at any level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award - Bronze, Silver or Gold, as we wish to support those who otherwise might be unable to participate due to cost.
Operating units, voluntary Uniformed Organisations and schools may apply for larger grants towards equipment or courses that will have ongoing benefit for their participants.
Leaders
As Unit Managers and Leaders are you aware how a Grant to the Unit could assist perhaps in the purchase of Expedition equipment? - We would like to hear from you.
City of Birmingham Unit Managers of Licenced Award groups operating through the Regional DofE office and those Units operating from National Organisations (Scouts, Guides, Boys / Girls Brigades) are welcome to make applications or further enquiries
Awardees
The criteria for applicants is to belong to an Award Unit in the City of Birmingham which includes parts of Sutton Coldfield and Solihull. If in any doubt, please email the Charity.
Grants are to support a specific section of the Award by providing a sum to enable the purchase of equipment, travel or fees. However, at each level there is a limit and participants can only apply for one grant at each level at least 12 months apart.
Celebrate
The Birmingham Award Association for many years was involved with celebrating achievement in the City.
Trustees and Committee members have much experience to help make celebrations a rewarding time to share achievements.
